-1) What was your motivation to plan to enter AMP ?~
#br
I majored in mathematics in my undergraduate days. After I took part
in the Mathematical Contest in Modeling held in China, I became
interested in using algorithms and mathematical models to solve
practical problems. So I searched for the graduate schools providing the applied mathematics course and decided to enter AMP.

-2) How did you prepare for the entrance examination ?~
#br
I first took some classes with undergraduate students. Then I studied algorithms, linear programming, graph theory and operation research as recommended by my professor. Also I referred to the test papers in the last decade.

-3) How did you get information of AMP and its entrance examination ?~
#br
I got the information mainly from seniors in my laboratory, especially my tutor.

-4) How are your life in Kyoto and activity in your laboratory ?~
#br
I impress by the beautiful scenery, historical and cultural atmosphere in Kyoto deeply. Everyone in my laboratory is so gentle that whenever I meet some difficulties they will do their best to help me. We even have an English corner every Friday night.

-1) What was your motivation to plan to enter AMP ?~
#br
I finished my master's degree in production system science, during which period I had a contact with my current supervisor. Upon deciding to continue my research, the current field of study seemed a natural choice, for it offers immense possibilities for practical application of acquired theoretical knowledge.

-2) How did you prepare for the entrance examination ?~
#br
I attended a presentation for prospective students, where it was explained which field are of interest for each division of the school, as well as prerequisites. In addition, I obtained some materials from passed entrance examinations from the school's web-page, and through solving them brushed-up my theoretical foundations.

-3) How did you get information of AMP and its entrance examination ?~
#br
I attended a presentation for prospective students, where it was explained which field are of interest for each division of the school, as well as prerequisites. Luckily enough, the information concerning this presentation showed up in google's “ad-words” and straight into my mailbox.

-4) How are your life in Kyoto and activity in your laboratory ?~
#br
I was immensely pleased with the active lifestyle of my fellow lab-mates; they each show keen interest in vast areas and complement each other's research. Spontaneously organized study groups and research presentations, as well as the engaging discussions afterwards are very helpful with my own study and research, giving me direction and illuminating certain aspects one might overlook if left on one's own.

-1) My motivation to plan to enter AMP:
#br
I have got a chance to study in Fukushima's Lab of AMP as a visiting scholar from April in 2011. After I came to Japan, I was deeply attracted by the good atmosphere for academic research. And every teacher is so kind that they are willing to help me. I like this lab and want to continue studying here.

-2) Preparation for the entrance examination:
#br
I have prepared a research plan for my future doctoral study under the guidance of my supervisor.

-3) The way to get information of AMP and its entrance examination:
#br
I know this laboratory from my senior, then I know that it belongs to AMP. I got the information of entrance examination from both my supervisor and student affairs division.

-4) My life in Kyoto and activity in my laboratory:
#br
My life in Kyoto is simple and regular. I come to the laboratory in the morning and back in the afternoon or at night. I am enjoying living in this way. In my laboratory, every week we have several research activities, such as workshop and paper introduction. It is a good way to increase my studying passion and extend my research perspectives.

**Ming Hu (Doctor course 3rd grade) [#xd844177]

-1) My motivation to plan to enter AMP:
#br
I got a chance to study in Fukushima Lad of AMP as a visiting student for 6 months in 2009. I told myself to try my best to hold this chance to improve my research on optimization, since it is a wonderful Lab.

-2) Preparation for the entrance examination:
#br
I prepared a research plan for my future doctoral study under the guidance of my supervisor.

-3) The way to get information of AMP and its entrance examination:
#br
Before I enter the AMP, I collected some information about the conferences on optimization. From there, I knew my supervisor, moreover, I knew more about AMP.

-4) My life in Kyoto and activity in my laboratory:
#br
Basically, my life in Kyoto is very simple, laboratory and home. But there are many activities in Kyoto University, especially for foreign students, such as there is a party opened for foreign students and Japanese students in Kizuna each Thursday. You may also have enough opportunities to attend international conferences. In my laboratory, each week we have several research activities, such as book seminar and workshop. We also enjoy some parties each year, such as Welcome Party, End-year Party and Bolling Party.
